Some things you should know

We share our tools, frameworks and point of view widely.  That’s because we know the real difference in our project work comes from our people – their unique perspective and application of tools and frameworks, their inherent entrepreneurialism and ability to see through and around a problem. We know that is what our clients value.

Remote
friendly

We are remote friendly and have been since before the Covid pandemic and the havoc it wreaked across the globe..

We believe in trust over control – there is no micromanaging here – we don’t have to see you to trust you.

We’ve optimized our internal processes, communication channels and tech stack to make sure that people really can work from anywhere in a time-zone appropriate for the region  EMEA/Antwerp CET, AMER/New York EST, and APAC/Singapore SGT)

There are downsides to remote working, and it’s something we think about – a lot.

We have learned that culture and creating a sense of belonging is really hard in a remote setting.  We take every opportunity to connect IRL and virtually – most years we have a Summer Office when we all come together to work, share and hang out, the regions have their mini version of this which we call Office Week.  We’re very committed to our virtual calendar which includes a book club, this is Me and our own AirBOInBOi channel (to make the most of our places in different places.)

It can still get lonely if you’re working remotely most of the time, you have to be disciplined about your work/life boundaries and you need to make the effort to build your internal network.

We have learned some lessons about what works and what doesn’t – we’ll be happy to discuss this with you to make sure you make the right choice for you.

Learning by doing is one of our core principles and that is harder to do when you’re remote too.  We have some people who have managed this exceptionally well – they are driven by their genuine passion for the work and seek out people and sources to learn from.  Our role, at a corporate level, is to facilitate that and not get in the way.

And we also have some former colleagues who couldn’t make it work for them.

Your learning style, your passions and how you combine those to grow are things we will chat about as we get to know each other better.
