External startup accelerator
A 3-month program designed to accelerate the growth of startups relevant to your business
We help you build external innovation resources by stepping into the startup ecosystem
But first, what is an external corporate startup accelerator? It is a structured acceleration program, initiated by a large corporate, where external startup teams are invited to co-develop their business concepts with the support and coaching provided by the accelerator.
Differently from an internal accelerator, where the corporate accelerates internal projects of its own employees, an external accelerator aims to collaborate with external sources of innovation (open innovation, startups, entrepreneurs, …).
The benefit of this approach? An external accelerator gives your organization the opportunity to reach out to fresh talent who is trying to disrupt your own business: the best way to find the leaders of tomorrow for your evolving organization.

Our acceleration programs usually have a duration of 3 months. When needed, we tailor them for different durations.
We help enterprises connect to early-stage startups at their seed or series-A funding phase
Physical or virtual
We help set up both physical and virtual external startup accelerators, depending on the specificities of the client.
Board of Innovation will run extensive coaching by external mentors from the startup ecosystem or internal mentors from the corporation
We set up accelerators that have a clear focus as of the type of startup (industries, maturity, …)
Niche focus on one challenge, various niches or tech (e.g. blockchain, predicting demand, supply chain systems, …)
Three types of external accelerators
Which one is the ideal format for your organization?
Physical Startup Accelerator
A physical location (e.g. in a coworking space, a floor in the corporate office or even a dedicated accelerator space) where the external accelerator and its startups are housed. This is the classic approach, as it creates a physical hub, where startups and the program leads are housed. It is more suitable for earlier stage startups, that are glad to not have to invest in real estate.
Virtual Startup Accelerator
A virtual accelerator is where the acceleration program is run without a dedicated location. This is more often used for later-stage startups, as they often already have office space. E.g. we helped set up the Orange Fab BeLux.
