With lockdowns and restrictions in place around the world, there was a pressing need to address the challenge with a systemic approach. Creating a sense of urgency and preparing the business for the new normal was crucial in order to forge opportunities for the months and years to come.
Together with Board of innovation, AstraZeneca’s MEA leadership worked on identifying offensive strategic initiatives and business opportunities to which to allocate resources and to develop in the immediate future.

Results
An aligned leadership
To do so, we structured a two-week strategy sprint that included several touchpoints with the country presidents of AstraZeneca MEA. Everything was organized in a time-efficient way with maximum output, limiting activities to giving input, validating work in progress, and efficient decision making.
After the program was completed, the leadership stood aligned, with a shared vision and four strategic directions in place, including the key challenges to overcome in the region.
