Hack: Run daily standups (or twice a week to start with)

Popularized by Scrum environments, Standups are (morning) 15-minute meetings, where multidisciplinary teams of developers, designers, and product owners come together to quickly align on an ongoing project.

In an age of increasingly multidisciplinary teams, Standups are a healthy activity for any project team where complex interdependencies are in place. By the way, do you know the reason for the name “Standup”? It refers to the fact that people literally stand during the whole 15 minutes – this motivates your coworkers to keep information to the essential.

Dedicate 5 minutes for each of these 3 questions:

  • What did you do since the last standup?
  • What will you work on today?
  • What do you need help with?
