Business Model Research

Once in a while we launch a new questionnaire to keep ourselves updated on the latest trends in (business model) innovation. Recently we asked nearly 150 innovators in the Netherlands and Belgium how they look at new business models. During the inspirations sessions we give, we present the different findings. Some of the first results are published below.

How many of your employees can explain your own business model in a brief and transparant way? Often this number is painfully low. When we asked if they could compare their own model with that of their competitors only few (17% in this case) say they had ever done this. Understanding your own business in one thing. Understanding that of your competitors is clearly something else.

When asked for successful business model examples, often people talk about Google, Apple or Ryanair. But there are of course tens, maybe hundreds of remarkable cases that illustrate how you can find new revenue streams. So when we asked people if they took a look at other companies outside of their industry, not even 1 in 3 did. This clearly states that we have a lot of preaching work to do. The solutions for your business models are out there. You just have to hunt them down and of course we can help you with that ;)

Inspiring presentations

Your organisation is packed with talentful people, no doubt about that. But sometimes they can get stuck in old paradigms. Changing a mindset is not something you do overnight but a refreshing presentation can help. On a regularly basis we give presentations and lectures for a variety of crowds. During these sessions we present the latest trends and our vision on future business models. We’re happy to share some of our presentations. If you’re looking for a personal in-company session tailored to your sector, just contact us.
